Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide As a Safer Disinfectant Did you ever think about all the synthetic chemicals you use on a regular basis to clean your home? And did you ever think twice about the risks of these chemicals when used on a regular basis over a long period of time? If you have not, you should. You can replace these toxic cleaning products and disinfectants with vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. The combination of the two kills 99% of bacteria. Place 3% hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and full strength plain white or apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle. Use a little bit of each one to clean your produce and then rinse with water. Use the same to clean your food surfaces in the kitchen. This would also be good for bathrooms and tiles. Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University found that these two products together kills virtually all Salmonella, Shigella, or E.coli bacteria on heavily contaminated food and surfaces, making this combination more effective than chlorine bleach or any commercially available kitchen cleaners.
